Frequently Asked Questions:

What if I don’t see the space I want to book?

All rooms managed by the Faculty of Medicine are booked through this system. All common pool classroom space (Theatres B, C, and D, 2L10, 3H1 & 14B2) must be requested through Dalhousie University Campus Bookings. (Back To Top)

What is the difference between a “booking” and a “reservation?”

A “reservation” refers to the entire event that you are scheduling, including all rooms involved in a videoconference and all recurrences. Each individual occurrence or room use is considered a “booking.” For example: a videoconference with 4 sites would be one reservation, but would consist of 4 bookings. This allows you to modify the rooms you are using (bookings) without having to modify the entire event (reservations). (Back To Top)

Why can’t I book a videoconference for tomorrow?

We require 24 hours notice for all scheduled videoconferences, as the conferences are scheduled by the technical staff the day before they occur. The system has been designed to reject any videoconference requests made with less than 24 hours notice to ensure that a videoconference is not requested after the conferences for the next day are scheduled.

If you must schedule a videoconference with less than 24 hours notice, please contact or call 494-2867. (Back To Top)

When is Videoconference technical support available?

If you would like guaranteed support for your afterhours session, it can be requested with 10 working days notice and will be billed at $50 per hour per technician. View Room Booking Policies for more details on after hours technical support. (Back To Top)
